Sunflower microgreens
Sunflower is one of the most popular microgreens due to it's sweet, nutty flavor and crunchy texture. It has a great shelf-life and it's packed with vitamins and protein.
Sunflower microgreens contain a lot of A-, B-, E-, and K-vitamins, calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphor, potassium and antioxidants. It's especially good source of iron, with 100 grams having way over the recommended daily intake. It's packed with protein too with 33-48% of the weight, and the best of all - it contains all of the essential amino acids. Unarguably on of the best plant-based proteins, especially for those on a vegan diet!
Microgreens in general are very nutritious food. They can be tens of times more nutritious compared to their full grown counterparts. A real whole superfood that is not served as a powder in a jar!
Microgreens are excellent in salads, on bread, in smoothies, or as a finishing touch to soups and other warm dishes. When used in warm dishes, add them to the dish right at the end.
Tip: Replace your salad base with microgreens for a refreshing taste and a substantial dose of nutrients!
